Not many WIPs to go on this now and I'm really pleased with the way this work is turning out, it certainly has the lovely light cheerful feel I wanted. Just a few more planes to add, and a bit of tidying up here and there. The colour reproduction on my camera still isn't fantastic though, so apologies for that.

Chateau Rousseau de Sipian
Ok, this is an attempt to take a fairly standard subject: a wine bottle and glass, and abstract it it make it a little more unusual. I love bright colours, so I hope you an see the Chateau's distinctive wine bottle and the swirling vineyards behind. This was a lot of fun and will be a gift to the owner of the chateau.

Cothill WIP4
Another few additions to my cothill piece. We have gained a wall at the bottom of shot,Laurence and a black cat, lost 2 aeroplanes (to be replaced). By the way I must apologise for the appalling picture quality from my camera. Photography is not my strong point

Cothill School - WIP3
An update to my Cothill school picture, lots of things happening now, sunflowers, cricket players, roof detail etc. How many players are in a cricket team? Could take me a long time to finish!

Cothill - WIP2
Here's an update on my Cothill picture, quite a lot of detail is going into the buildings now to really bring out their character:
Magnolia
I love magnolias, but I always manage to kill them in my garden, this is taken from a black and white still, then abstracted, so I hope you can still see the magnolias in there!

Cothill School - WIP - 1
Work In Progress - A bit of a challenge here, to paint a school fete in Oxfordshire from photos (I've visited the school only once). I've chosen the naive style as I feel this is a good fit for a prep school and the fete theme. It's coming along now, will post more as it develops!
Tulips
This design came about after I saw a bulb catalogue with the most stunning tall tulips for sale. It all went a bit art noveau in my head. Acrylic on box canvas 50cm x 20cm
Butterfly
My former scientific career was sparked from a very young age, when I become a avid collector of butterflies and moths. My interest continues and I hope you like my detailed style acrylic drawing of a swallowtail butterfly, taken from photos as this is sadly one I've never actually seen
Llyn Lech Owain Park
I often walk in this beautiful Carmarthenshire park. Not only does it have a rare black peat lake, but it's also a SSI (site of scientific interest) due to it's wildlife. As you walk around the lake you get a panoramic view of the horizon. This work was influenced by a night walk when the moon was already up but the sunset hadn't quite faded away.
My first post
Hi, This is my first post on my new gallery site. I hope to be posting all my work and work in progress here.
